The Adoptable Campaign is a social initiative aimed at decreasing the barriers to animal adoption. Through providing the 2 most important vaccinations for dogs- DHLPPI and Anti-rabies, we hope to decrease the stigma and negative attitudes towards stray dogs across the National Capital Region (NCR), and eventually across India. Often what keeps people away from stray dogs, is their fear and lack of exposure. We understand the fear that people can often have towards stray dogs, however feel that this is an attitude that needs to be changed. After having adopted a stray dog and having been a volunteer with People for Animals, I realize that there is an immense need to spread awareness and educate people on the issue. Through the Adoptable Campaign, we hope to reduce negative stigma and barrier towards animal adoption!

A dog can be a wonderful addition to any home, but whether you're an experienced pet parent or a first-time adopter, it's important to keep your canine companions health and happiness a top priority. Below are some useful tips for all dog parents. And remember: If you're considering bringing home a new dog, please make adoption your first option.
b" Puppies eight to 12 weeks old need four meals a day.
b" Feed puppies three to six months old three meals a day.
b" Feed puppies six months to one year two meals a day.
b" When your dog reaches his first birthday, one meal a day is usually enough.
b" For some dogs, including larger canines or those prone to bloat, it's better to feed two smaller meals.
Vaccines help prevent many illnesses that affect pets. Vaccinating your pet has long been considered one of the easiest ways to help him live a long, healthy life. Not only are there different vaccines for different diseases, there are different types and combinations of vaccines. Vaccination is a procedure that has risks and benefits that must be weighed for every pet relative to his lifestyle and health. Your veterinarian can determine a vaccination regime that will provide the safest and best protection for your individual animal.
My name is Ananya Shroff and I am a Grade 12 student at Modern School Vasant Vihar, New Delhi, and am a proud owner of four beautiful dogs. I am truly passionate about the safety and well-being of stray animals, and hope to be a part of their journey in finding new, and hopefully better, homes. Working with stray animals, as a volunteer with People for Animals and Friendicoes, has not only resulted in my family adopting dogs, but has also solidified my love for animals and made me more cognisant of the number of stray animals that wander the dangerous streets of Delhi. I want to create the opportunity for more people- my peers, my community, my family, etc…- to adopt animals and take care of those around them.
My name is Aashima Khanna. I am 13 years old and study in 8th grade in Delhi Public School R.K.Puram. I love animals because they are the loyal and loving, and don’t expect alot in return. My neighbours have many cats and dogs, of whom they do not take proper care due to their old age. So the cute creatures usually come to my house for care and food. One of the female dogs gave birth to three cute little puppies in my house, recently. They enjoy being here since I provide them with milk, food and water and also spend lot of my free-time with them after returning from school. I’m trying to toilet train some of the younger puppies and many times they spoil my main gate. But I don’t get agitated or annoyed with them, instead I have kept 4 bowls outside and tried to train them to use those (sometimes that also doesn’t work but no matter what, I love them). Ananya Didi has been very helpful with giving them vaccinations, and giving them unconditional love.
My name is Kavya Khullar and I am a 9th grade student at Modern School Vasant Vihar, New Delhi. Seeing Ananya, over the past two years dedicate a lot of time and effort towards working with stray animals, I’ve been motivated to join her movement and continue the amazing work of Adoptable. I’ve always been a dog lover and have wanted to help better their lives, Ananya and Adoptable have given me a platform to do this- its been a true inspiration and I have learned a tremendous amount as I shadowed and volunteered during vaccinations camps across Delhi. I have learned a lot from her and will be organising an Adoptable Camp, under her guidance, in Gurgaon in February!
